English Christian Song | "The Root of the Pharisees' Resistance to Jesus"

Do you know the essence of the Pharisees?
And the root of why they opposed Jesus?
It is because, when it came to the Messiah,
their heads were filled with fantasies.
What’s more, the Pharisees only believed that the Messiah would arrive,
yet the truth of life they did not pursue.
Even now they wait for the Messiah,
for they don’t know the way of life,
and have no knowledge of the way of truth.
Do you think such ignorant people,
foolish, stubborn ones could win God’s blessing?
How could the Messiah be seen by people like this?

The reason that they opposed Jesus
was that they had no idea of the Holy Spirit’s work, and its direction,
and the way of truth that Jesus spoke was to them completely unknown,
of the Messiah they had no comprehension.
Since they’d never seen or lived with the Messiah,
they wrongly clung only to His name,
opposing His essence in any possible way.
These Pharisees did not obey the truth,
their essence was arrogant and unyielding.
Their belief in God was based on the principle:
It doesn’t matter how profound Your preaching,
or the level of Your authority;
if You’re not named “Messiah,” You are not Christ.

Is this not a ridiculous belief?
Could you make the mistakes of the Pharisees,
since you don’t understand Jesus in the slightest?
Can you recognize the way of truth?
Are you sure that you will not oppose Christ?
Can you follow the work of the Holy Spirit?
If you don’t know whether you’ll oppose Christ,
then you are, according to what God says,
already living on the brink of death.
