The disciples of Jesus appeared to be unworthy for the task of preaching the gospel after Jesus resurrected. Even on the day of His ascension, some of the disciples still doubted if it was really Jesus.

However in all of their doubts and unbelief, Jesus still went ahead and gave them the commission to "Go and preach the gospel in all nations!"

Why would Jesus do that? Why did He not first clear their unbelief? The answer is found in Jesus' confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit in what the Holy Spirit can do through the disciples despite their weaknesses.
